endometriosis - all you have to know !

what is Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a common condition affecting about 2% - 10% of women of reproductive age, characterized by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity, usually present on other genitalia inside the pelvis or in the abdominal cavity.

Endometriosis causes

Although the exact cause of the endometriosis is uncertain, there are various theories explaining why it's  happening, and the causes of the endometriosis include:

  1. Menstrual flow inversely: menstrual blood flows into the pelvic or abdominal cavity instead of going outside the body.
  2. Transformation of peritoneal cells: Scientists believe that hormones stimulate briton cells to switch to endometriosis-like cells.
  3. Embryonic cell transformation: Hormones are also likely to stimulate embryonic cells into endometriosis-like cells.
  4. Surgical scar: Surgical scar tissue of pelvic organs is a factor that increases the risk of endometriosis cells sticking to these organs, causing the endometriosis.
  5. Endometriosis cells transition : Endometriosis cells may be transmitted through blood vessels or lymph nodes elsewhere, causing the endometriosis
  6. Immune system diseases: Some diseases of the immune system can cause a malfunction in its ability to break down and get rid of uterine cell-like cells that grow outside it.
